OUR RESEARCH
THE TRUTH ABOUT COAL:
About 90 percent of the coal that is mined and produced in the U.S. is destined for our nation’s power plants, where coal is used to generate about half of our energy. According to Professor Cohen, if coal was as dangerous as a meltdowns we would have one every 5 days!
A thick layer of fumes hovers over the city of Cubatão in São Paulo state, Brazil. Pollution in the air, water, and soil accounts for about 2 percent of all American cancer deaths, and may be responsible for a higher percentage of cancer deaths in countries with less stringent pollution control laws. Lung cancer rates tend to be higher in urban and industrial centers, where air pollution is a constant problem. If America keeps using coal, we’ll turn out like this.
This is what people in Indonesia have to wear because the pollution is so bad. Do you want to wear those things?
FOREIGN FACTS:
· France has used nuclear energy for over 50 yrs. with no meltdowns.
· Over 70% of France’s power is nuclear!
· If you fly over China , all you see is black fog due to coal. Is that what you want to breath?
THE CASE FOR NUCLEAR POWER:
Most people think that nuclear power is dangerous; mainly because of nuclear weapons (which are). But according to Dr. Edwin Przybylowicz whom we interviewed; the uranium balances are COMPLETELY OPPOSITE!
INSIDE A NUCLEAR POWER PLANT:
Uranium sticks are cooled in water then the steam turns the turbine and that makes energy for the power grid.
THORIUM:
Could Thorium be one of the answers to our Energy crisis, Global Warming and the need to Eliminate nuclear waste. U-238 is very similar to Th-232,which makes thorium a potential alternative fuel for nuclear reactors. Add plutonium to the mix and it will chew up nuclear waste as part of the power-generation process. Thorium produces significantly less waste and it can also dispose of the nuclear weapons and highly radioactive waste from nuclear reactors using more conventional fuels. It can also generate electricity. Drawbacks are-can't sustain a nuclear reaction once it has been started without supply of neutrons and it’s expensive.
OUR SOLUTION:
We Know that Nuclear Power Is a solution, but there is a downside-----nuclear waste. Luckily, our team has a cure to fix that!
NUCLEAR WASTE EATING BACTERIA!
This type of bacteria will devour nuclear waste and render it non-radioactive. A recent study from the Institutes of Radiochemistry and Nuclear Physics in Dresden outlines a way of using bioremediation as a means for eliminating nuclear waste. Bioremediation is a process that uses microorganisms to return an environment back to its original condition after it has been exposed to contaminants.

THE PEOPLE WE INVESTIGATED
· Harley Coffield (Energy Auditor) Sawnee EMC, explained how nuclear power is produced
· Dr. Edwin Przybylowicz, Executive Committee Member of the Nuclear and Radiation Studies Board of US National Committee for the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry in New York, taught us about nuclear reactions.
· Mike Newsome, Procurement Strategist of Siemens USA– Explained the power grid.·
Al Westbrookes (Electrician), Scott Burger (Maintenance Engineer), Wayne Abernathy (Retired Maintenance Engineer), of Buford Dam Hydropower Plant showed us how the hydro-power was created.
